staale sandbech’s interview
Interviewer: have you celebrated by getting dressed up?
Stale: well.. I had to cut my hair a little. My biggest memory from OL is in Salt Lake when a legendary snowboarder rode with a mohawk, and I couldn’t do that because we have to wear a helmet. And I couldn’t do it on the opening ceremony…So I had to take a medal so i could show my respect to him.
interviewer: how was it to take an Olympic medal?
Stale: It’s kinda sick! I have to think about it, but to take a medal in any competition is cool. Just to land the run and stand on the podium in OL with the other guys who are my best friends makes it extra cool. It isn’t my competition, it’s my friends.
Interviewer: How has the day been for you?
Stale: It’s been a good day. I got to sleep in a little longer since I got directly to the final and ate a good breakfast and watched the other guys. And then I went to the course and by then had the sun melted the sun, and it was soft, finally! it was ice there until now.. So it was much better and easier to ride. Not so scary and we rode hard.
